Ruel - coming back to Manila for his 4TH WALL World Tour

Announcement – Australian singer-songwriter and pop star Ruel is coming back to Manila for his 4TH WALL World Tour on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Samsung Hall (SM Aura Premier). Tickets will be on-sale on Tuesday, April 11th starting at 10AM via SMTickets.com and SM Tickets outlets nationwide. Presented by Wilbros Live.

At twenty years of age and now on the cusp of releasing his debut album 4TH WALL via   RCA (ROW) & Sony Music (Australia), Ruel’s discovery of self-assurance is perfectly timed.

The Sydney-bred singer-songwriter speaks confidently about the release’s authenticity “It’s exactly the music I wanted to write… what I had in my head. It’s me executing my ideas, instead of trying to execute other people’s ideas in my way.”

Executively Produced by long-time collaborator M-Phazes (Khalid, Noah Cyrus, Remi Wolf), 4TH WALL was originally heading down a Pop/R&B lane, however, the pandemic acted as a major personal and professional conduit for Ruel. His matured identity galvanized the decision to forge his own creative directive, and played a vital part in expanding his musical horizons.

Ruel notes “It took way longer than anticipated to get this record right. I spent the last  years writing it and wound up with over 100 songs. I rewrote half of them and re- recorded most of them… It’s been the biggest journey making this record…”.

These revelations are strikingly obvious in the 4TH WALL singles that Ruel has treated his audience to, including the dancefloor anthem GROWING UP IS ____, dream-like LET THE GRASS GROW, the poignant social and personal observations of YOU AGAINST YOURSELF, and most recently, the beautifully emotive ballad MUST BE NICE.

Since making his debut in 2017 at the age of 14, Ruel has fast become one of his generation’s most influential artists. Sitting with over 2 billion global streams, 1.2 million  Instagram followers, and five Platinum records to his name, Ruel is both a seasoned global superstar and a record-breaking musician for tomorrow's generation.

Add to this stellar collection of bucket list achievements (that most could only dream of), Ruel is also the youngest artist ever to win Breakthrough Artist at the ARIA Awards and the youngest artist to sell out the Sydney Opera House… twice. Not surprisingly, Ruel has caught the attention of some of the industry’s most respected individual’s, including icon Elton John and musical tastemaker Zane Lowe both championing his career developments.

Along with three sold-out world tours, Ruel has shared stages with Khalid, Shawn    Mendes, played Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival, and released collaborations with Denzel Curry, JVKE, Omar Apollo and Cosmo’s Midnight.

Now three EPs deep - READYFREE TIME and BRIGHT LIGHTS, RED EYESthe time is well and truly nigh for 4TH WALL to take flight. With an impressive collection of Platinum and Double Platinum hits including YOUNGER, DAZED & CONFUSED, PAINKILLER, REAL THING and FACE TO FACE, the release of 4TH WALL will further solidify his position as one of Australia’s most successful artists.

It’s safe to say that in just a few short years, Ruel has a biography that is nothing short of astonishing, and the international press tends to agree. Ruel has now graced the high- end pages of editorials such as Nylon, Vogue and GQ, and has received written praise from influential outlets including NMEThe Face, famed celebrity and fine art photographer Rankin’s HUNGER TV and Coup De Main.

As his fans hold their collective breath in anticipation for a global tour announcement, Ruel is ready to reignite his position as one of the world's most exciting artists. “Okay, time to bring home my sound. I can’t wait” - Ruel

Carly Rae Jepsen Brings ‘The Dedicated Tour’ to Manila

Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen will be bringing her ‘The Dedicated Tour’ to Manila on October 23 at the New Frontier Theater.

Tickets will be on-sale starting August 31 via TicketNet.com.ph and at all TicketNet outlets nationwide. Presented by concert promoter Wilbros Live.

Fans can expect a night full of hits as Carly Rae Jepsen will be performing her chart-topping songs, including “Cut to the Feeling”, “Call Me Maybe”, “Party for One”, “I Really Like You”, “Boy Problems”, “Emotion”, “Run Away with Me” and many more.

After Carly Rae Jepsen released her critically acclaimed album E·MO·TION in 2015, it became “a modern touchstone for a new crop of pop-leaning artists and legacy acts,” as NPR noted, adding “the blast radius of E•MO•TION is expansive.” The album also inspired an abundance of memes — extending the cultural cachet that Jepsen earned from the ubiquity of her Grammy-nominated blockbuster hit “Call Me Maybe” (from her U.S debut album Kiss), which not only climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in over 47 countries, sold over 20 million singles worldwide, and was certified Diamond in the U.S., but was referenced by everyone from former secretary-of-state Colin Powell to Cookie Monster.

Jepsen’s new album, Dedicated, retains the joyful, hook-filled feeling of its predecessor. But where E*MO*TION, which featured the platinum single "I Really Like You," was an ’80s-influenced synth-pop classic that Rolling Stone called “a pop masterclass” and Stereogum called “indisputable, unfuckwithable pop genius,” Dedicated has a more ’70s-inspired feel at times (though the album defies categorization as a whole). At one point, Jepsen was sure she was making a disco opus.

“The title was going to be ‘Disco Sweat,’” she says with a laugh. “I really bought into it.” But Jepsen had a change of heart thanks to her travels over the past two years, which included writing trips to the Swedish countryside (“It was spring and there were fields of flowers, homemade breads, and kittens running everywhere”) and a beach in Nicaragua, where she surfed and stayed in a cabana-like casita. Then there was an Eat Pray Love-esque solo vacation in Italy.

“I had so many songs,” she says. “I needed some space to walk around, reflect, eat pasta, and get to know myself a bit.”

Mr. Pure Energy Gives Back

With a renewed zest for life and music, Gary Valenciano gears up for ‘Gary V, Mr. Pure Energy on XS,’ a fund-raising concert for the benefit of Xavier School charities.

Just three months after his double health scare, Gary Valenciano is back to doing what he loves best: performing for the people.

It’s his way of giving thanks for receiving a second lease on life, so to speak. Mr. Pure Energy, despite of all that he has gone through the past several years, has so much to thank for.

  • One, Gary V survived an emergency heart bypass surgery due to blockage of his left anterior descending artery caused by his type 1 diabetes, which he has been battling for almost 40 years.
  • Two, the veteran artist has successfully beat cancer of the kidney.

Through his strong faith and the unwavering support of his loved ones, the good news that Gary V was praying for came sooner than later. “Nakatanggap ako ng message galing sa doktor ko na [I’m] cancer-free and no need for chemotherapy, radio therapy, wala talaga. It’s really, really good news. It’s gone.”

  • And three, the 54-year-old OPM icon has been blessed with a great family. He’s got a very supportive wife, Angeli, and equally talented kids Paolo, Gabriel, and Kiana, who would always be by his side no matter what.

With all the blessings and the miracles that he has received, the multi-awarded artist feels that it is time for him to give back.

Mr. Pure Energy will be staging “Gary V, Mr. Pure Energy in XS” a fund-raising concert on October 13, 2018 at the Xavier Sports Center in Greenhills, San Juan. Proceeds from this concert will go to the Xavier School charities.

“Gary V, Mr. Pure Energy in XS” will be an event to remember. Not only will this concert mark Gary V’s return to the performing stage after being away from the spotlight for months, it will also be extra special as his daughter Kiana Valenciano will be joining him on stage as his special guest.
