Panasonic scholarship, developing new breed of leaders, serving the nation

Panasonic granted scholarships to 20 deserving university and vocational students during the 2019 Panasonic Scholarship Asia awarding ceremony held recently at Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC), Taytay, Rizal. The said scholarship program is one of the manifestations of the company’s vision of pursuing a better life for each individual customer with its various partners, and realizing a better world through its contributions to the environment and other activities, including the Panasonic Scholarship Asia program.

The ceremony was led by Panasonic Corporation (PC) GroupwideBrand Communications Division leader for CSR and Citizenship Department Haruhisa Okuda, and PMPC president Masatoshi Sasaki. Other guests, who graced the occasion included Pamantasan ng Cabuyao (PnC) president Isabel F. Inlayo; University of Rizal System (URS)-Morongcampus director Allan E. Conde; URS College of Engineering dean Francis B. Culibrina; Bulacan State University (BSU) scholarship office head ElinitaP. Galvez; Dualtech Training Center (DTC) community relations manager Rodolfo V. Sta. Ana III; Don Bosco College (DBC)-Canlubang technical affairs assistant director Erwin Go; Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) – Makati external relations officer Armando Z. For Vocational Category: Mr. Ronald O. Atienza (DTC - Electro-Mechanical Technology); Mr. John Mark G. Cabilan (DTC - Electro-Mechanical Technology); Mr. Zandro A. The new scholars were chosen after passing series of interviews, and assessment of their over-all performance as students along with the expectation that they will make use of their scholarship not only for their personal gain, but also for their contribution to the progress and development of society by becoming good leaders in their chosen field.

Panasonic scholarship for 2019

Manila, Philippines - In its pursuit of “A Better Life, ABetter World,” Panasonic is now accepting candidates for its 2019 Panasonic Scholarship Asia Program (PSA).

In the Philippines, the said scholarship program is offered to promising state university students (graduating in 2 years’ time) in a bachelor’s degree program, and to newly-enrolled students in a vocational course program for the school year 2019~2020.

PSA is administered by Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation in the country along with the support of Panasonic Industrial Devices Philippines Corporation, offering financial assistance to promising students, who have difficulty receiving higher education particularly for economic reasons, but highly-motivated to contribute to thecountry’s progress and development.

Applicants must be: a Filipino citizen, and a bona fide full time junior student in a state university enrolled in the fields of engineering, industrial design, accountancy, and economics; and those vocational students currently enrolled/accepted in a TESDA-accredited institution, specializing in the fields of electro-mechanics, consumer electronics, or refrigeration & air conditioning; financially challenged but academically deserving and of good character; determined to excel and make a difference…

Panasonic is founded on the basic objective to be a corporation devoted to the progress and development of society and the well-being of people, thereby contributing to the growth of human civilization.

Panasonic, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary is now accepting applicants for its annual scholarship program in the Philippines.



The scholarship provides promising senior students (graduating in 2 years’ time) in a bachelor’s degree program and newly-enrolled/accepted students in a vocational course program for the school year 2018~2019. 

In the Philippines, Panasonic Scholarship is administered by Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) along with the support of Panasonic Precision Devices Philippines Corporation (PPRDPH), and offers financial assistance to promising students, who can contribute to the country’s progress and development.

Applicants must be: a Filipino citizen, and a bona fide full time senior college student in a state university enrolled in the fields of engineering, industrial design, accountancy, and economics; and those currently enrolled/accepted in a TESDA-accredited institution, specializing in the fields of electro-mechanics, consumer electronics, or refrigeration & air conditioning;academically deserving and financially needy, who is of good character; determined to excel and make a difference…

Panasonic scholarship for a better world

Panasonic Corporation (Japan) through the Panasonic Group (Philippines) continues to invest in people along with the Company’s commitment to contribute in pursuing a better life and realizing a better world.



Panasonic Corporation (Japan) through the Panasonic Group (Philippines)  awarded full scholarships to eleven technical-vocational students during the 2017 Panasonic Scholarship awards ceremony for Vocational Category held at Don Bosco Technical Institute, Mandaluyong City on July 25, 2017.

The 2017 Panasonic scholarship grants to eleven technical-vocational students who were chosen after passing a series of screening activities.

All the scholars will be pursuing a 15-month technical-vocational training certificate course consisting of a 10-month "in-center" training and 5-month supervised "in-plant" training.

Six of the eleven recipients are from: DBTC-Makati (Mr. John Ranulfe Barile, Mr. Joseph Bautista, Mr. Aris Casilan, Mr. Rolando Navarette, Mr. Jeffrey Padilla, and Mr. Bernardo Ramos); 

Three from DBTC-Mandaluyong (Mr. Reynan Baltero, Mr. Diether Dare Diaz, and Mr. Arven James Labayan); and two from DBTC-Canlubang (Mr. Michael Dalanon, and Mr. Engelbert Perez).




The certificates of scholarship were presented to the recipients by Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) president & Panasonic Scholarship (Philippines) chairman Shinichi Hayashi; Panasonic Precision Devices Philippines Corporation (PPRDPH) president Koji Ipposhi; Panasonic Corporation’s CSR & Citizenship Department manager Haruhisa Okuda; Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC)-Mandaluyong vice rector Fr. Demetrio Carmona; PMPC assistant directors Marlon Molano and Robert Pacheco; PPRDPH assistant director Mary Ann Diaz; PMPC business division head Harry Sarmiento; DBTC-Makati TVET director Fr. “Panasonic products make life easier. But the best products you have been giving to the Philippine society are these young people, who if it will not for your sacrifice to part away with a portion of your earnings to help them learn a trade and engage in productive activity for the Philippine economy to progress, many young Filipinos would just flood the street and become potential risks to peace and order in our land,” said Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC)-Mandaluyong vice rector Fr. Demetrio Carmona during his opening message commending Panasonic for the Company’s continuing endeavor to contribute in preparing and securing a better future for the less privileged but deserving students.  

Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) president & Panasonic Scholarship (Philippines) chairman Shinichi Hayashi thanked the various individuals and groups, who continued to support in promoting the very objective of the Panasonic Scholarship Program and in ensuring that all the business activities of Panasonic in the Philippines are appropriate for its basic concept that ‘a company is a public entity of society’. 

“As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Panasonic operation in the Philippines this year, and the upcoming 100th year anniversary of our Panasonic Corporation next year, I thank you for your continued support and cooperation in all our programs and activities aimed at contributing to society. I hope that by offering opportunities like this, we can spell out clearly our commitment to provide a healthy upbringing to our younger generation, who will be responsible for the future of our planet, by giving them the chance to make the most of their individual abilities to contribute also in pursuing a better life and realizing a better world,” Mr. Hayashi said. 

Mr. Haruhisa Okuda, Panasonic Corporation’s CSR & Citizenship Department manager, reiterated that the scholarship program is one of the expressions of gratitude of Panasonic Corporation to the continuing support of society to the Company. 

“As a public entity of society, Panasonic operates for the improvement of social life and the development of world culture, not only in doing its business, but also in its corporate citizenship activities. And this Panasonic scholarship is one aspect of our efforts to develop human resources by supporting those, who really want to study,” said Mr. Okuda.



Panasonic Corporation funds the localized Panasonic Scholarship programs in the Asian region. And in the Philippines, the scholarship program, which is offered to undergraduate and vocational students is administered by Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation with the support of Panasonic Precision Devices Philippines Corporation.

Panasonic scholarship application is open! Creating new breed of leaders for nation-building

Panasonic has announced recently the opening of application for its 2016 Panasonic Scholarship Program (PSP) in the Philippines.

PSP-Philippines is administered by Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) along with the support of Panasonic Precision Devices Philippines Corporation (PPRDPH).  The program, which is part of the global corporate citizenship activities of Panasonic for the next generation is offered to full-time senior college students in a state university enrolled in engineering, industrial design or accountancy or those individuals, who are enrolled/accepted in any TESDA-accredited institution, specializing in the fields of electro-mechanics, consumer electronics or refrigeration & air conditioning course for the school year 2016 ~ 2017.
“It is the objective of our Panasonic Scholarship Program to contribute to the development of responsible breed of leaders by bringing out not only the best in them but their commitment towards nation-building,” said PMPC president Shinichi Hayashi.

Dream Big, Work Hard - SM Foundation celebrates 20th batch of scholar-graduates

SM Scholars 2016

SM Foundation celebrated another milestone under its education program as it produced 225 graduates from its 20th batch of scholars since its college scholarship program started in 1993. 

This year’s Presentation of Graduates produced 71 honor students of which, 4 are summa cum laude, 11 are magna cum laude, 44 are cum laude, and 12 finished with academic distinction.


This year’s theme of ‘Dream big, Work hard’, emphasizes and strengthens SM Foundation's continuing commitment of providing opportunities for the youth who best exemplifies its founder Henry Sy, Sr’s words of ‘Dream Big’.


Henry Sy and his vision has been a constant inspiration to the youth, SM scholars. As the heart of the SM group of companies, SM Foundation is focused on social development and helps the underprivileged in communities where SM is present.

SM Foundation was established in 1983 by Henry Sy, Sr. and Felicidad T. Sy, anchored on its founding principle of PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE.

During the SM Scholars presentation, Kim Atienza, more known as ‘Kuya Kim’, was  the guest this year’s as keynote speaker. Atienza hosts a weekly science and environmental-centric show Matanglawin and is currently the resident weather anchor in ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol segment ‘Weather-Weather Lang’.


An exclusive job offer was also held for scholars preceding the event. The SM scholar-graduates completed their courses in accountancy, computer science, information technology, education, computer engineering, electronics and communications engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering.


They were interviewed by the human resources team of participating SM companies which include SM Investments, Inc., Shopping Center Management Corp., SM Department Store, SM Retail, SM Food Group (Supermarket, Hypermarket, Savemore and Alfamart), Uniqlo, H&M, Body Shop and Asia Pacific College, to name a few.



SM Foundation has, to date, produced a total of 2,385 graduates under its college scholarship program. Most of its graduates are now gainfully employed or running their own businesses here and abroad. A number of them have opted to work with SM and its related companies.

Equitable Foundation, Inc. awards scholarship grants to National Teachers College scholars


The Equitable Foundation, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit corporation and member of the Equicom Group, has partnered with National Teacher’s College (NTC) to support students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy. Starting from the 2015 – 2016 school year, qualified students will be beneficiaries of the Go Kim Pah Scholarship Program that will pay for their education starting with their freshman year until their graduation.

The partnership was formalized through a signing ceremony held during NTC’s 87th founding Anniversary. NTC is an existing client of Equicom Savings Bank (EqB) through its Legarda branch.
