Stay healthy during cough season with these five practical tips

Actor Ian Veneracion makes sure that he gets soothing relief from cough during the rainy season with the natural, safe, and effective Ascof Forte Menthol, his cough remedy of choice.

For many of us, the rainy season offers relief from the long spell of oppressive heat and humidity we’ve just endured in the past months. While it’s true that wet weather banishes much of the discomforts wrought by a tropical summer, it also brings with it common ailments like colds and cough.

It doesn’t help that intermittent rains and sudden changes in temperature render us more vulnerable to bacteria and viruses. The inconveniences—flooding, heavy traffic, longer commutes—add to the stress of daily living, which, in turn, could weaken our immune systems.

While we can’t do much about the weather, we can help our bodies prevent cough or soothingly relieve it once it sets in by observing healthful practices even at the comfort of our own home, and when needed, taking a natural remedy like Ascof Forte Menthol (Vitex negundo L. Lagundi Leaf).

Here, Ascof shares five easy and practical steps on how to avoid and relieve cough this rainy season:

Eat nutritious food

A healthy and balanced diet provides nutrients, such as anti-oxidants, that help fortify the body against stress. Eating fruits and vegetables improves the body’s defense against cough-causing infections as these boost the immune system.

Drink plenty of liquids

One of the simplest and most effective ways to relieve cough is to drink plenty of clean water, at least 8 to 10 glasses a day. This helps ensure proper hydration and expel wastes from the body. Water also helps soothe an irritated throat by thinning out the mucus in the post-nasal drip and keeping the mucus membranes moist. Gargling warm salt water if you have a sore throat and drinking natural fruit juices also help.

Get enough rest, sleep, and exercise

Getting enough rest and sleep is an effortless way of strengthening your immune system. A good night’s sleep helps regenerate your body and recharge it after a stressful workday, helping you resist infections that cause cough. Also, don’t give up on your exercise, even indoors, because it does not only make you feel good about yourself but also helps boost your immune system.

Maintain good hygiene

Some viruses and bacteria spread faster during the wet and cold season, thus making infections and common diseases like cough and colds easily transmissible. That is why even if you are staying indoors, it is of utmost importance to practice good personal hygiene habits such as washing your hands frequently to help prevent the spread of diseases and minimize your risk of infection.

Keep your surroundings clean

One of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of bacteria and viruses is to maintain a clean environment—keep your house neat and tidy at all times, change sheets regularly, avoid leaving stagnant water, clean your waterways, and dispose waste properly. When sneezing or coughing, always remember to cover your nose and mouth with tissue or clean cloth to prevent germs from spreading through the air.

Coupled with the regular observance of healthful practices, Ian Veneracion takes Ascof Forte Menthol for a “hagod-menthol” soothing effect for his irritated throat when cough already sets in.

When cough already sets in, take Ascof Forte Mentol for a safe and natural remedy that provides a “hagod-mentol” soothing effect to your irritated throat. Ascof is made from 100 percent organically grown lagundi leaves, making it a natural, safe, and effective remedy for cough and bronchial asthma.

Pascual Laboratories, the manufacturer of Ascof, has its own lagundi farm in Nueva Ecija that uses a GMP-certified production process to cultivate the traditional herbal plants. Ascof Forte Menthol is a product of scientific research and clinical studies.

Ian Veneracion’s best-kept secret to showbiz longevity

Veteran actor Ian Veneracion started his showbiz career at the tender age of five and continues to flourish at age 42. What is his secret in keeping the magic alive in this country’s competitive and fast-evolving entertainment landscape?

To begin with, Veneracion took a long, circuitous route to leading man status. He started in the TV sitcom Joey and Son, headlined by funnyman Joey de Leon. After his stint at the longtime variety show That’s Entertainment, he began to tackle more mature roles and eventually transitioned from child actor to action star, becoming one of the most sought-after artists of his generation.

Teaming up with Jodi Sta. Maria and Bea Alonzo in the hit ABS-CBN soap operas Pangako Sa ‘Yo and A Love to Last, his gorgeous good looks cranked up the kilig factor and before showbiz watchers knew it, Veneracion’s popularity was off the charts.

But what does it take to endure in an industry that is teeming with equally good-looking, younger, and more aggressive actors? How does one stay in the radar without being a scandal magnet?

Without the slightest hesitation, Veneracion declares that he owes his longevity to hard work, kindness, and “pakikisama” with his colleagues and peers.

Ian Veneracion takes Ascof Forte Menthol Sugar Free Syrup with him even during shoots and tapings to make sure he gets relief from his cough because of ASCOF’s ‘hagod-menthol’ soothing effect to his throat.

“Kindness and pakikisama are key. Starting off as an outsider showbiz neophyte compelled me to be professional, to always come on time, to know my lines by heart, and to be kind to people,” says Veneracion, whose father Roy Veneracion is a renowned painter.

“I was forced to do the hard work and I would not have wanted it any other way,” he stresses.

An excellent work ethic is just one of his assets. Veneracion also believes he owes it to his fans to constantly present his best self each time he faces the camera by maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. Behind the camera, Ian makes sure that he keeps a balanced diet and engages himself in regular exercise and physical activities like football, boxing, scuba diving, paragliding, and skydiving.

On top of that, during the rainy season, he also takes all precautions to protect himself from respiratory ailments like cough so he can fulfill his work commitments.

Fortunately, Veneracion has found a trusted ally in Ascof Lagundi (Vitex negundo L. Lagundi Leaf), the pioneering and innovative natural medicine for cough in the Philippines. Ascof Lagundi is made from 100 percent organically grown Lagundi leaves, making it a natural remedy for cough and bronchial asthma.

“Balance is key to wellness. You need to work, but you also need to seek recreation. You need alone time, pero dapat may balance pa rin, so you need physical activities and spiritual interests,” Veneracion points out. “Try to get enough sleep and to eat foods that strengthen your immune system. Pero kapag tinamaan kayo ng cough, take Ascof Lagundi.”

Veneracion prefers using the variant Ascof Forte Menthol Syrup, which comes in sugar-free or regular, owing to its ‘hagod-menthol’ soothing effect on his throat.
“My personal habit is when I start to feel the onset of cough, umiinom na agad ako ng ASCOF Forte Menthol Sugar Free Syrup kasi natural s’ya and safe. Agad-agad kong nararamdaman ‘yung ginahawa sa lalamunan. Nakatutulong s’yang paginhawain ang aking ubo habang ito ay gumagaling,” he says.

Veneracion relates that he takes Ascof Lagundi with him even during tapings and shoots to ensure that when he starts feeling the early symptoms of cough, he can get instant relief from its cooling effect to the throat.

“It’s something that I bring with me everywhere. When my manager informed me that Ascof was signing me up as an endorser, I said, ‘Perfect, just last week I had Ascof Lagundi in my bag. I definitely believe in the product. Kasi safe and natural s’ya. During the shoot I actually drank it,’ ” Veneracion reveals.
“You can trust Ascof Lagundi. Because it’s a natural remedy, you can take it even at the first signs or symptoms of cough. Hindi ka matatakot because it’s safe,” he adds.
With his cherished values of professionalism, kindness, camaraderie and hard work, and with the aid of good health habits, Veneracion is set to keep his star shining and affirms his status as a respected name in the local entertainment industry.

Pascual Laboratories, the manufacturer of Ascof Lagundi, has its own lagundi farm in Nueva Ecija that organically grows the plant and uses a GMP-certified production process. Ascof Lagundi Forte Menthol is a product of scientific research and clinical studies.

Actor Ian Veneracion finds a new love . . . in Ascof Lagundi

At age 42, gentleman actor and reluctant heartthrob Ian Veneracion appears to be a star whose time has come. Although he started acting at the age of 5, Veneracion’s career took a long, circuitous route to leading man status, something he finally achieved when he was cast as a swoon-worthy hero in hit TV soaps.

Today he seems unstoppable, his career trajectory leading him to a place that much younger and more aggressive actors have yet to reach.

Ironically, it is from this enviable place that Veneracion now seeks balance even as he appreciates the perks of stardom. He has kept the debonair good looks that make fans—age 18 to 80—swoon, yes, but the Gen X actor now finds fulfillment in matters that are more constant and stable, and less transitory.

This probably has much to do with being married to a loving wife and having three wonderful children. Veneracion readily affirms that there is always more to life than the glitz of show business.

At 42, actor Ian Veneracion has become more discerning of his life choices. That is why he places his full trust only in Ascof Forte Menthol Syrup as his cough remedy, as it is made from 100% organically grown Lagundi leaves.
“Forty is like, you spent the first half of your life trying to learn who you want to be. You did stuff that you wanted to try out. At age 40, ‘yun ‘yung complete na—you know who you are, you know what’s right and wrong, you have your own values. For me, it’s just the start of the flight. When you reach this age, you know exactly where you’re coming from, where you’re at, and where you’re going.”
Veneracion then gently asserts, “Life is my priority, not work.” This gives clarity to his life decisions. Like why maintaining a healthy lifestyle is of tremendous importance to him, and why he always makes sure that he is at his best and healthiest self.

Heartthrob dad Ian Veneracion prefers Ascof Forte Menthol Syrup as his remedy for cough and bronchial asthma because of its “hagod-menthol” soothing effect, which gives quick relief from sore and itchy throat.

With a broader understanding of himself, Ian has come to prioritize his health and wellbeing above anything else and has become more discerning of his life choices. That is why for his cough remedy, Ian places his trust only in Ascof Lagundi, especially now that the rainy season is here and respiratory ailments are very common.

Ascof Lagundi, the innovative and pioneering cough remedy in the Philippines, is made from 100 percent organically grown Lagundi leaves, making it a natural, safe, and effective relief for cough and bronchial asthma.

Veneracion says that it is for this reason that he immediately accepted the offer to become Ascof’s newest official endorser.
“It’s something that I actually take. When my manager informed me that Ascof wanted to sign me up as its endorser, I said, ‘Perfect! Just last week I had Ascof Lagundi in my bag.’ I definitely believe in the product.”
The actor likewise shares that he takes Ascof Lagundi Forte Menthol even during tapings and shoots, and encourages others like him to choose Ascof as the preferred option over chemical medicines and other similar natural remedies for cough.

“You can trust Ascof Lagundi. It’s a natural remedy that you may take even at the onset of a cough, and when you are just starting to show its early symptoms. Hindi ka matatakot kasi safe siya,” he assures everyone.

Veneracion uses the variant Ascof Forte Menthol Syrup, either sugar-free or regular, because of its ‘hagod-menthol’ soothing effect on the throat.

“There are other variants both for kids and adults, but my personal favorite is ASCOF Forte Menthol Sugar Free Syrup because it actually gives me instant relief from sore and itchy throat due to cough,” he explains.

Pascual Laboratories, the manufacturer of Ascof Lagundi, has its own lagundi farm in Nueva Ecija that uses a GMP-certified production process to cultivate the traditional herbal plant. Ascof Lagundi Forte Menthol is a product of scientific research and clinical studies.

Veneracion considers Ascof Lagundi as his newfound love since it is always there when he needs it most. “Getting enough sleep and eating properly are important to keep your body healthy. Pero kapag tinamaan kayo ng cough, of course you should take Ascof Lagundi.”
