Avida Land transforms South Park District with Interactive 3D Street Art

As February ushers in Arts Month, South Park District, a 6.6-hectare master planned community of residential and commercial developments transforms its vibrant community into an interactive canvas with 3D paintings unveiled on February 3.
Avida Land unveiled two newly created 3D paintings that will complement its existing art installations.

Complementing the district's existing art installations, these 3D paintings make the landscape a destination for creative exploration where art seamlessly blends with nature and home.

Among the talented artists who helped design and produce these latest paintings were John Mark Saycon, Neil Defeo, and Melanio Bulauitan III—members of Guhit Sudlungan, the winning team of visual artists who participated at the first 3D street painting competition mounted by Avida in 2011. For this year’s venture, the team collaborated with fellow artists Brian Defeo, Emil Aldrine Alarcon, Didier Marc Alarcon, Jefferson Malong, and Jervin Ferrer.

3D paintings are artworks that project an illusion of depth and three-dimensional space, elements that give them playful and eye-catching appeal.

3D paintings appear carved into the very ground itself, giving what is actually a two-dimensional image a sense of depth and tangibility against the surrounding landscape.

Tess Tatco, Avida Land’s Marketing Head, shares great excitement over the newest attractions in the place. “We’re proud to showcase once more the creative talents of local artists,” she says. “Come and visit South Park District to discover the joy and inspiration that visual art can bring.”

John Mark Saycon, on the other hand, says that he and his fellow artists were gratified to have another art collaboration with Avida Land. “Winning the first-ever 3D street painting competition in 2011 opened doors for us,” he enthuses. “We’re happy to have another shot at it in 2024.”

Melanio Bulautian III, on his part, recalls that he and his fellow artists were just students back then, excited to share their craft with the world. “Winning the competition got our names out there—an invaluable chance to introduce ourselves to the public and establish our names as artists. Over a decade later, we’re even more excited to once again share our art with Avida.”

Bring the district’s essence of “Part City. Part Nature. Pure South” to life, one 3D painting shows a lush flower garden with butterflies in the air. The production of this artwork was led by none other than Emil Aldrine Alarcon. Alarcon has had a multitude of successful exhibits through the years, with another one, titled “Rebirth,” to be mounted at Arte Bettina in February.

The second 3D painting showcases a green roundabout amid a cityscape. The production of this artwork was led by Neil Defeo, who is primarily known for his paintings in watercolor and oil. Defeo won the Vision Petron Awards in 2010 and 2016.
Neil Defeo led the production of the cityscape 3D painting.

Tatco stresses that the best way to enjoy 3D paintings is by seeing these up close. “This is why we invite everyone to get up close to these stunning works of art at South Park District in National Road, Alabang. Unleash your inner artist and capture great photos with your loved ones and friends.”

Property seekers who want to live a balanced life amidst the relaxing vibe of the South may visit the Avida Towers Ardane Showroom.

Avida Land Unveils the Biggest Outdoor Mural in the South

Avida Land excitedly announces the official unveiling of “In Her Future Memories,” a stunning mural artwork and winner of their recently concluded South Park District Mural Design Competition.

The eye-catching colors of “In Her Future Memories” invite lovers of art from all over the country to appreciate its beauty in person.

From championing local artists to elevating spaces with Filipino artistry is Avida's dedication to the arts, and this advocacy will continue to strengthen for years to come. They believe in the power of art to inspire, connect, and spark conversations, and "In Her Future Memories" embodies this spirit.

“In Her Future Memories” was designed and created by Jhocel “Anthony Marahuyo” Malicsi and his team of thirteen talented visual artists—Rheydene Luca Ortega, Rhealhet Luca Ortega, Laurence Sebolino Gutierrez, Ma. Aleilyn Joyce Domingo Botin, John Roland Alipis, Ainafer Rupal Arena, John Alexis Rupal Arena, Roma Nieves Huet, Rica Permejo, Mia Jormalyn Astrera Balaoro, John Lenarrd Soriano Barua, Michael Grospe Autos, and Jefferson Panghulan Parajas. On board to handle logistics for this team were Jerome Edianel Carandang, Charmaine Abiado Camba, Paul Denvir Delmonte, and John Carlo Decrepito.

Anthony Marahuyo shares insights into his team’s winning design.

Marahuyo Studio is gifted their prize money for winning the Avida South Park Mural Design Competition.

Team leader Jhocel Malicsi and his group executed their winning mural design on one of the exterior walls of the South Park Center. Using paints provided by Davies Paints, they turned the wall into a massive, eye-catching canvas on which the theme was well-interpreted in vivid colors with a clear visual story.

Towering 20 meters above the ground, “In Her Future Memories” is the biggest creative mural in the South that is expected to draw multitudes of art lovers and visitors to South Park District, a 6.6-hectare master planned mixed-use development in Alabang, Muntinlupa City that is home to 2 Avida residential developments which are Avida Towers Ardane - a pre-selling property, and Avida Towers Altura - a move-in ready home, right across the South Park Center and South Park Corporate Center.

Officials from Avida Land were present at the official unveiling of the completed mural.

Avida Land's Marketing Head, Tess Tatco, beams with excitement for South Park District's newest attraction. The towering mural joins Reginald Yuson's existing installations, painting a vision for South Park as a vibrant place to live and thrive. Tatco envisions not just Avida residents, but people from different cities visiting the mural in person. “Come see ‘In Her Future Memories’ for yourself,” she invites everyone, “and step beneath the towering canvas, feel the pulse of the city and nature merge, and rediscover the charm of the South.”

Ulysses Jose N. Rosal III, Business Development Manager at Davies Paints, shared his excitement to have been part of the production of one of the biggest murals in the entire country.

The mural’s creative team designed the art piece to adhere to the competition’s theme of “Part City, Part Nature, Pure South”. It prominently depicts a female cyborg whose mechanical parts seamlessly blend with a backdrop of brightly hued tropical flowers, creating a fusion of technology and nature. On the left, where the flowers open up to the futuristic city skyline, onlookers are invited to imagine what tomorrow might bring.

Through its appealing imagery, the mural transports us to a world where concrete skyscrapers rise amidst vibrant flora, symbolizing a hopeful future where progress does not come at the expense of the natural world. It’s an image that evokes nostalgia and a feeling of deep connection to one’s hometown.

This artwork transcends its physical form, offering an opportunity for reflection and creative expression - where casual passersby and art lovers can capture their own special moment and share this online.

Avida 's First Grand Neighbor Day to Celebrate Neighborly Love

Avida Bridges Friendships Next Door through First Grand Neighbor Day last Saturday, November 5

One of the leading mid-market real estate developers in the country, Avida Land, held the country’s first Avida Neighbor Day on November 5 to commemorate and give back to its growing community of homeowners. The event aimed to highlight the importance of being a good neighbor as a step towards building better, inspired, and united communities.

Avida Residents Enjoy a Day of Fun-filled Activities to Celebrate Neighborly Love

It was a full-afternoon celebration happening simultaneously in 11 participating Avida developments nationwide. It was held across Avida Land communities including Ridgeview Estates NUVALI, Avida Parkway Settings NUVALI, Avida Village Cerise NUVALI, Avida Residences Dasmariñas, Avida Settings Cavite, Avida Village Iloilo, and Avida Village North Point.

Homeowners from various condominium developments also participated in the event including those in Avida Towers BGC 9th Ave, Avida Towers San Lorenzo, Avida Towers Alabang, and Avida Towers Cebu.
“We believe that people need social connections, but what truly gives our lives meaning and happiness is a sense of concern for others. Avida fills this need through the communities we create. We started this event because we wanted our residents and communities to form strong friendships with their neighbors, to be proud to call one another Friends Next Door, and enrich each others’ lives with a sense of trust and security. Every one of us is someone’s neighbor, and so we should always be kind and reach out to others,” said Avida Customer Care and Product Delivery Head Nancy Delegencia.

The Grand Neighbor Day began with the unveiling of its art installation, a blank canvas with the event logo, where participants were able to let their creative juices flow in coloring and doodling, bringing the installation to life with everyone’s collaborative effort. Residents were also treated to a line-up of food concessionaires and social enterprises from whom they can purchase throughout the day to support their causes and beneficiaries.

To foster a spirit of sharing and cooperation among its residents, Avida started its program with activities planned by their tie-up with the annual Jollibee Maaga ang Pasko. Residents were inspired to give back to less fortunate communities by donating pre-loved toys and books to partner orphanages of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. They were also engaged to sign up as Jolly Family Toy Scouts, volunteering their time and energy to clean, prepare, and distribute these donations. Afterwards, the spirit of sharing continued with neighbors partaking in a neighborly feast with food prepared and shared by everyone in the Neighbors’ Grand Potluck. Afterwards, teams put their game faces on for a relay race, filling the venue with loud cheers and laughter.

To further strengthen the ties between neighbors, Avida prepared a Good Neighbor Pledge for participants to promise to be good neighbors, espousing neighborly values for a kinder, more mindful, and more caring community to achieve a widespread feeling that every day is Neighbor Day

The Avida Grand Neighbor Day garnered positive feedback from participants who went home that day with newfound friendships.
“We’d like to thank everyone for actively participating and cooperating with one another during the event. Being a subsidiary of Ayala Land, the Philippines’ leading developer of sustainable estates, it is part of our mission to provide dream communities—not just a home to live in, but a happy, thriving, inspired community—as well as enhance the lives of not only the residents but even the surrounding communities outside of Avida. We hope that our communities continue to nurture and strengthen their relationships not only as neighbors, but as Friends Next Door,” Avida Marketing Head Tess Tatco addressed the homeowners.

Francis Kong shares tips to financial freedom at Avida’s Homepossible: Live Free! Conference

Most hard-working millennials today aspire to grow their savings and achieve financial independence, if only to prepare for a better future and to quickly realize their dreams such as building their early retirement fund, starting their own business, or simply buying their own house and other investments.

Avida Land recently held the Homepossible: Live Free! conference at the Grand Ballroom of Fairmont Hotel in Makati City to inspire millennials to take charge of their finances and achieve financial freedom.

Financial management wizard, published writer and thought leader Francis Kong made the seminar more meaningful as he shared valuable insights on how to develop the right perspective when it comes to savings as well as how to cultivate discipline and control cash flow, towards becoming debt-free.

“The way you spend your money, time and energy is reflective of the way you spend your life, and your future depends on how you manage these,” Kong said as he reminded the audience of mostly single millennials and young parents on the importance of keeping track of money, time and energy spent on everyday things. To help change their financial perspective, Kong challenged the participants to replace “spending” with “investing”.

Kong talked about the different concepts of money to provide the audience a deeper understanding of how to appreciate its value.

Francis Kong
“Money is just an idea that represents a tool for exchange. When you exchange money for the things that you consume, those things represent value. Price is what you pay for, value is what you experience,” said the financial guru, illustrating another example closer to home.
“Our friends from Avida are offering different beautiful units, you pay for it and you experience it because of its value.”
Kong also warned about another nature of money that can become a hindrance to achieving financial freedom. “Mysteriously, expenses always rises up to the level of your income. Kung kelan lumalaki ngayon ‘yung kinikita mo, sumasabay naman ang expenses mo.”

The financial consultant also stressed the importance of developing discipline in managing finances.
“When we master the basics such as saving money and tracking our expenses, and we discipline ourselves, the moment when we are faced with emergencies and crises, we don’t have to bother with the financial basics anymore because it has become second nature. We only have to focus on coming up with creative financial solutions.”
During the conference co-presented by The Philippine Star, in partnership with Cinema1, Kong also shared a financial advice especially for those who want to make their dream homepossible. “Live within your means but improve your means by increasing your income.”

The financial guru also addressed concerns about having debts. “Not all debts are bad. There are also good debts (which you incur) when you buy something that increases in value.” Kong said these could include investments such as houses, lots and other properties.

As part of Avida’s Homepossible series, Homepossible: Live Free! conference gave participants a better understanding of how to take back control of their finances towards achieving financial independence, and how to finally make their dream homes a reality.

Watch out for details of upcoming Homepossible events from Avida.

OFW: “Nagpadala lang ako, nagkabahay na ako!” UAE-based OFW wins house and lot with Move It To Win It promo

Manila, Philippines – An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) based in United Arab Emirates is the grand winner of LBC’s Move It To Win promo. After a series of weekly and monthly draws, Junaly Deguma, a loyal customer of LBC, is now a proud owner of a house and lot in Avida Village Cerise, in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

“At first, I couldn’t believe it when LBC representatives informed me that my sea cargo transaction won me the grand prize,” shared Deguma. A native of Tagum, Davao, Deguma worked as an administrative secretary in a construction firm in UAE, but she will soon start working in Japan. She is also a mother of two children.
Anne Baylon-Jara, Avida Marketing Manager; Tess Tatco, Avida Marketing Head; De Guma;
her mother Sherlita L. De Asis.; and Darlene Dollente, Brand Communications Manager, LBC Express Inc.

Deguma has been using LBC’s remittance and cargo delivery services since moving abroad in 2009.

“I only trust LBC. My family trusts LBC. They know that whenever I send money or packages, they only have LBC in mind. Now, I feel like years of being a loyal customer finally paid off,” she said.

Moving to a newer, better home

“Nagpadala lang ako, nagkabahay na ako,” she exclaimed when asked how she felt upon learning that she won the unit.

Deguma’s new house is part of a 20-hectare lush residential community in the Nuvali eco-city, a large-scale, master planned development where the promise of redefining live, work, and recreate is made possible in an integrated natural and man-made environment. Avida Village is divided into three different strategically planned house units – Bernice, Cresta, and Phoebe, which gives every family the choice of home they’ve always wanted.

All the spaces are surrounded by sprawling greenery, pocket parks, and open spaces that make living more refreshing. De Guma and her family are also entitled to live the Nuvali lifestyle – sustainable and secure – with amenities they will truly enjoy.

Managed by the Ayala Property Management Corporation, Avida Village Cerise Nuvali is accessible via public transportation and is easy to find. It is near restaurants, shopping outlets, leisure parks, and many other recreational activities. More importantly, it is close to schools, churches, hospitals, commercial centers, and business hubs, which ensures all residents’ needs are within reach.

“We are happy to welcome Ms. Deguma’s family to Nuvali. We hope that they will enjoy everything that Avida Village Cerise has to offer,” said Tess Tatco, Head of Marketing for Avida.

Aside from the Avida house and lot, the LBC Move It To Win It promo also gave away P10,000 weekly, shopping and grocery vouchers, roundtrip tickets to the Philippines, and brand new cars to OFWs who availed of LBC’s TRANSFAST remittance services within the promo period of October 1 to December 15, 2014.

“This is LBC’s way of recognizing the loyalty of our customers. We value them as much as they value the money and the cargo they send their loved ones. We appreciate their trust and we will continue to provide them with quality services that not just move boxes and cash, but also move lives. We invite everyone to just continue sending their remittances and balikbayan boxes through LBC and they can expect more exciting customer deals this year,” said Darlene Dollente, LBC Brand Communication Manager.

The Avida Food Hunt with Chef JJ Yulo

“People who love to eat are always the best people.” A saying I like but I want to add more. Traveller, tourists and tripping people who not only love to eat, but are infinitely interested in all restaurants or places where to see all things edible -- come from all corners of the globe and all walks of life!

In fact, these people is one of the world's great equalizers, because it allows socially, culturally and economically diverse people to meet on equal footing as they appreciate the merits of various culinary offerings.

Filipinos are noted for their knack on exploring and trying out the newest dining destinations. The passion for great is so ingrained in the Filipino culture that access to it is vital to a truly dynamic lifestyle.

the Avida Food Hunt kicks off this March with Avida Towers Asten, a high-rise residential development in West Makati that is envisioned to have a dynamic mix of retail and dining options catering to the needs of the passionate millennial crowd. Avida Towers Asten inviting people to join Avida Food Hunt with Chef JJ Yulo leading this special gastronomical adventure.

The Avida Food Hunt is a food expedition wherein participants will get a taste of a sampling of specialty cuisines and epicurean fares in the neighboring Avida development. They will only discover which restaurant is part of the hunt as the tour progresses.

Founder of Pinoy Eats World, well-known chef, food write-blogger Chef JJ Yulo leads the hunt. Pinoy Eats World is dedicated to food culture, motivated to give the public an interesting and always delicious look at Pinoy Food.

This New York Institute of Culinary Education Chef has hosted several food tours in the country, Hong Kong and as far as Turkey. Yulo is passionate about discovering about food evolution and is most pleased to share his knowledge to all.

I remembered a field educational trip as I was coordinating with the schools and was enjoying the tour with the students. Now, it’s more fun that this food trip was a secret tour that will explore the different food destination in San Antonio Village, West Makati.

The Avida Food Hunt is a food expedition wherein participants will get a taste of a sampling of specialty cuisines and epicurean fares in the neighboring Avida development. They will only discover which restaurant is part of the hunt as the tour progresses.

The first stop is Carpaccio Ristorante Italiano, located right across Avida Asten. This popular restaurant has become a premiere destination for food and wine lovers seeking a classic Italian dining experience.

The first food we taste is the Carpaccio, a delectable dish of thinly sliced choice cut grade A beef served with cheese and fresh green salad on the side. This is a must try for everyone!

The 2nd destination - TK Authentic Masters Singaporean Food

TK Authentic Masters Singaporean Food has been providing a variety of services—from buffets and ala carte dining to budget meal toppings and food deliveries—to the people of San Antonio Village and beyond since 2012.

Specializing in gastronomic selection that speaks of a fusion of flavors representing various cultures from all over the world, TK offers an excellent selection of dishes that satisfy even the most discriminating palates.
Their popular offerings include Singaporean staples such as a char kway teow (stir-fry noodles), savory cereal prawn, and the refreshing Kopi O, a traditional iced coffee concoction served in Malaysia and Singapore.

The next joint was HK Roast.

This cozy hole-in-the-wall favorite along Bagtikan Street is an ode to the tai pai dong, the small open eateries found on the busy roadsides of Hong Kong.
HK Roast serves an array of Hong Kong-style comfort food like the mouth-watering roast duck, best eaten with a steaming bowl of rice and a glass of bubble milk tea. This is I recommend! I love the mouth-watering roast duck!

The next destination of Avida Food Hunt was at Titania Wine Bar and Café

Titania Wine Bar and Café, a fine dining restaurant inside the Titania Grand Cellar along Yakal Street in San Antonio Village, Makati.
Fun and really an educational trip ! Titania is a mecca for all kinds of wines. We were given a crash course on wine appreciation and were able to taste fine wines imported from France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Chile, California, and Australia.

We ended on a sweet note with a sampling of assorted desserts at Sophie’s Mom.

Nestled along the posh Santol Street, this quaint bakeshop is a dreamland for anyone with a sweet tooth. Displayed on their shelves are luscious cakes, cupcakes, mocha-truffles, mocha ice cream, and a tasty selection of specialty breads baked fresh everyday—the way Sophie’s mom, owner Marie Antoinette Rosal, makes her treats for her daughter.

The Avida Food Hunt is the project of Avida because they want people to realize that Avida developments provide comfort and convenience to their residents.

The Avida is in the communities where everything is near, access to good life and great food and restaurants we tour are all in the vicinity of Avida Towers Asten.
