Urban Living Collective to feature locally-made home products and ideas to millennials

Two-day event to be held July 30-31 at Capitol Commons

Looking to update the look of your pad and brighten up your space with locally-made furniture and home accessories?

Join other millennial homeowners at the Urban Living Collective, a two-day event happening on July 30 and 31 at one of the metro’s hippest lifestyle destinations, Capitol Commons.

Urban Living Collective will feature merchants offering a vast array of products and services that will address the needs of homeowners. At the event organized by Project 1 MNL, attendees will have a grand time shopping for items to deck their homes with—furniture, kitchenware, indoor plants, framed art, fur carpets, light boxes, vinyls and turntables, lamps, blinds, bedsheets and pillow covers, home scents, fire extinguishers, ceramics, cleaning detergents, organic snacks, and pantry favorites, among others.

"Project 1 MNL hopes to make decorating accessible and enjoyable for a new generation of homeowners through Urban Living Collective, the team's first event that promotes affordable home design using decor and furniture pieces from local enterprises. This is a straightforward bazaar and it hopes to make interior designing less daunting to young Filipino homeowners," says Cami Revilla, Project 1 MNL head collaborator.

Fellow head collaborator Fatima Fule adds, "Urban Living Collective is designed to cater to working millennials who live in apartments and condominiums with limited floor space, a common constraint in urban living. We hope that through this event, homeowners will realize that there are many ways to supersize the style of small spaces. It's possible to jazz up a home with limited square footage and turn it into a cosy and relaxing sanctuary."

The event will also serve as a platform for startup entrepreneurs to showcase their products. The Philippines is a great source for furniture and home decors, thanks to easy access to raw materials as well as the country's skilled craftsmen. Some of the merchants participating in the Urban Living Collective include Gabrienne's Home Decor, The Nifty Decorator, Red Slab Pottery, Amber Lights Laguna, Lumos by Lighthouse Enterprise, Ylaya Studio, The Wheelbarrow Store, Bronco Philippines, Fake Alchemy, and The Fur Factory.

Urban Living Collective is open to the public from 10 am to 9 pm on July 30-31. The event will be held at the park of Capitol Commons, the new mixed-use space developed by Ortigas & Co. which has fostered food, shopping, and other lifestyle activities since it opened in 2013. Freebies will be available to the first 300 shoppers who will purchase at least P300 from any of the booths. The event is supported by Capitol Commons, Sharetea, OMIZU Beautifying Natural Spring Water, The Linden Suites, Real Living, and WhenInManila.com.
